Pretty Toes | #5 - Pedicure

Image
5. Get a pedicure - DONE 4/25/15 In all my 22 years of living, I never got a pedicure from a nail salon until this day. (Still never had a manicure, but that's a different story. I'm not a huge fan of painting my hand nails anyway.) Amanda was getting married in like a week, so it was a perfect excuse to go and get our nails did. I was really excited to go because, only shortly before this, I learned that certain places will basically give you a foot massage too. Um yes please! Although, I was self-conscious of how my feet looked, so I basically cut my toenails and cleaned my feet before we went. (Am I the only one that does stuff like that? Like washing your hair before you go to get your hair cut, even though you know they're going to do it?)  When we got to the nail salon at the mall, the first thing we had to do was pick our color. Luckily we had a long wait because it took a little while to choose. They had so many different colors and styles! I finally sett

Upgrade! Kind of.. | #75 - New Phone

Image
75. Get a new phone - DONE 2/7/15 It's weird seeing "Jon Smith". I stopped calling him just "Jon" around the time we got engaged. Took me long enough! The phone that I replaced was my very first phone. I got it my senior or junior year of high school. My parents wouldn't let me get one until I had a job and could pay for it myself. I was so happy to finally have a phone. And I have a lot of good memories with it. It survived a lot of drops and a year of nannying. It also was the phone that I texted Jonathan on...I have tons of pictures on my iPod of texts he sent me. I smiled a lot at my phone :) After we got married we wanted to get our own phone plan and new phones (he didn't like his phone either, and we needed to be all responsible and stuff). We decided to go with T-Mobile cause it was cheapest, and we switched my brick phone for my first smart phone. They're pretty decent phones...but the camera SUCKS. Just straight up terrible. The

2015 in Retrospect | #40 - New Year's Eve Kiss

Image
40. Kiss someone at midnight on New Year's Eve - DONE 12/31/14 I don't have a picture, but I kissed Jonathan at midnight on New Year's Eve of 2014 :) It was cool because in 2 days we were going to get married!! A crazy year was ending and I didn't even know what was in store for 2015. But! I knew that I'd have my best friend by my side. And I did! We started the year with a kiss and had quite the year! Things of note in 2015: Got married :) The Decemberists concert Jonathan graduated from BYU Found out we're having a baby!! Went to San Diego for late honeymoon Birthdays and holidays together for the first time  Um...laughing? Honestly I can't think of anything else. Neither could Jonathan. Haha :) Hopefully by keeping up on the blog this year I'll remember more of the things we've done. The majority of our 2015 was a lot of small moments that made the year great. First year of marriage done! It was a great learning experience fo

Strike a Pose! | #63 - Professional Photos

Image
63. Get professional photos taken - DONE 10/22/14 and 11/29/14 I wanted to do both of these because they happened pretty close together and I love the pictures from them. So! Engagement photos! Done by Clawson Images (Taelor Clawson, a friend I met my first semester at UVU). She was super!! These are some of my favorites! I really wanted to do the pictures in the fall with all the beautiful leaves changing colors. We were a little too late, but they turned out really good, so no complaints :) It also took us (me) forever to decide on outfits, and it seriously took forever to find that dress and even LONGER to find that scarf. We did so much shopping! But Jonathan was a champ through all my indecisiveness and weird worries. And he's still like that. I just love him :) And these, taken on 11/29/15 are my bridals!! :) I found my dress a lot quicker than the engagement photo outfits. The wonderful Danielle Poulsen (my sister-in-law's siste

We Will Never Forget | #25 - Live Sporting Event

Image
25. Attend a live sporting event - DONE 9/11/14 BYU football game with the fam! We got tickets because my brother is in the military and they were doing military things for 9/11. Throughout the game, they played messages from soldiers stationed overseas. They also brought out a a HUGE flag at the beginning and it covered the whole football field. Biggest flag I've ever seen. We actually had pretty good seats (once the sun went down). We were pretty close to the field and it was cool to be around all the other people with family overseas. Different groups of people would cheer when their soldier showed up. We all cheered when Mike's video showed up, and ended up not hearing what he said! Luckily we got a copy later to listen to. Haha :) I like going to live sporting events because even if you don't care about the teams, the energy is catching. And ever since I learned the basics of football (downs and whatnot), football is more exciting to me. It's always

Cards, Signs, and Designs | #97 - Job

Image
97. Get a new job that relates to something I want to do - DONE 8/22/14 I would get emails from UVU about internships in the area, and this one caught my eye - Graphic Design/Printing Internship at BizCard Xpress Applicant should have experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, needs good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. Um. Me. So I applied! My current job at the time was stressful and difficult. I learned a lot, but I was ready to be done. However, I was really nervous to apply for this internship. I was scared to be doing something where I would have to be creative and help people advertise their business. I didn't think I was THAT creative and I was afraid to make someone look bad. I was able to get an interview, I showed them my work, and I felt pretty good about it. I also found out that they were changing the internship to a FULL-TIME JOB!! This was way better for my money situation, but my school schedule would definitely b
