The Me Monthly - Volume 1

Image
I want to break these monthly update posts into sections. This is probably kind of overkill, but I think it will help to give me direction and I feel like it will be easier for me too. If I finish a goal, I'll still do a separate post for it within the week I finish it (hopefully). ME THIS MONTH I'm thinking I'll use this section to give highlights from the month that aren't list-related. Maybe I'll share some favorites of the month, some fun things I've done, or some thoughts I have about my progress. July has been quite eventful! We spent lots of time with friends and family, and had a few big, one-day events that required extra time beforehand for planning and stuff. The week of the 16th was especially busy. I'm one of the Webelos leaders in my ward and there was a day camp on the 17th. It featured a 3 mile hike where the first mile was almost entirely uphill (my knees and I nearly died), and I brushed up on my first aid knowledge (no more breaths

Let's Do it Again: 101 in 1001 (July 4, 2017 - March 31, 2020)

I am SO EXCITED to finally start this list. I was coming up with ideas back in November as a way to avoid homework, then I took forever to finish it after my last list was done. But these past few weeks I've really been itching to start, so I buckled down and finished it! I wanted to break my list into different categories so I could make it more well-rounded. I like doing fun stuff, but I wanted to make sure I was setting some personal goals in as well. While some items are from my last list that I never got to do, the majority of them are things that I've been inspired to do through many different channels. I've looked at friend's lists, as well as a few I've found on Pinterest. I've seen other people do things on social media that looked super fun, and I wanted to try them too. I've thought about what sort of skills I want to gain, what type of mother and wife I want to be, and what I can do to improve talents that I already have. When I hit 101, I fel

#71 - 51 Movies

Putting this up as a post instead of a page, so it doesn't get confusing when I put up my second list :) DONE!! (By or before 2/8/2017) I know I missed some and was probably finished sooner, but life happens. I did accomplish this though! If I ever do this again, I would want to change it up a bit - pick a category, choose a higher number, etc. - and require the date or at least a sentence of what I thought about it. I watch so many movies, but there are so many I still haven't seen! I plan to watch 51 new movies from 5/14/14 to 2/8/17 (see #71 on the master list). I'll put dates if I remember them :) 1. Breakfast at Tiffany's | 5/21/14 2. Saving Mr. Banks | 6/3/14 3. My Best Friend's Wedding | 6/13/14 (s/o to Lindsay and her recreation of the opening credits) 4. I Do (But I Don't) | 6/23/14 (super cheesy chick flick - not great...) 5. Life in a Day | 6/25/14 (documentary - so neat!) 6. 3 Ninjas | 6/26/14 (so 90's) 7. How to Train Your Dr

#29 - 51 Games

Putting this up as a post instead of a page, so it doesn't get confusing when I put up my second list :) DONE!! (By or before 2/8/2017) Like the 51 movies item, I definitely missed some and probably passed it off a while ago. I'm just not very good at recording things when they actually happen. If I were to do something like this again, I would want to do a specific category, tell a little bit about the game, and maybe give it a rating of some kind. Overall, this was probably one of my favorite things to complete. I have found a new love for board games, and Jonathan and I really want to expand our collection. Board games, card games, group games, video games - I love them all! On this page I will document 51 new games that I've played from 5/14/14 to 2/8/17 (see #29 on the master list). 1. Mario Kart 8 | 6/22/14 2. Sushi Go! | 6/28/14 3. Nintendo Land | 8/3/14 4. Word on the Street | 8/6/14 5. Logo Game | 8/10/14 6. Zooloretto |  8/23/14 7. Dominion

That's a Wrap! (5 Months Later...)

I was planning to write a long post about my thoughts and feelings about how I've felt throughout this experience. Buuuuuuuuut....it's nearly 5 months after I've finished, so I'm going to do a bulleted list of how my first list went. I LOVED IT! When I started, I wanted direction and adventure and just something to do in my life! Reflecting back on my experience, I definitely think this accomplished those desires. I was very ambitious with some things (see 101 recipes, skydiving, etc.), but I think it was good for me to stretch myself and think about crazy things I would try doing. It really helped to have friends and family encourage and help me with accomplishing my list. Shout-outs to the wonderful Sara and my cute husband :) While I didn't do lots of the items on my list, I did quite a few things I had never imagined I would do in those 1001 days (got married, got a Bachelor's degree, had a baby, etc.). Overall, I feel good about what I wa
