Completed - Curtains Figured Out
54. Figure out the deal with curtains (9/4/2017)
(After getting both sets of curtains up, I decided to wait to say this one was "done" until after I got curtains for the kitchen too. But...technically the thing was to "figure out the deal with curtains" not "get curtains up everywhere you want them". And after doing both these windows, especially the big one, I think I have successfully "figured out with deal with curtains". It just took me a little while to come to this conclusion, so it is out of order in terms of completedness. Kind of bugs me, but I'll move on. haha)
Back at the end of March, we were looking to move to a bigger place. We loved our ward and neighborhood, but we just felt cramped. With both of us on computers a lot for work/education we needed an office, in addition to the two rooms for sleeping baby and parents. Within a month, we had found a duplex and were moving. However, this lovely little place has MASSIVE windows and it faces west, so we experience the full path of the sun during the day. Curtains have been a major need since we moved in.
The only problem - I know NOTHING about curtains.
So I Googled a lot, scoured Amazon for deals, and asked around for advice. After a month of all this, I finally made some decisions and ordered panels and rods for our main room and Daisy's room. A day after I ordered, the delivery date was postponed for the curtain rod for the main room. I waited, because I wanted the one I ordered!
The other stuff came on time and we put them up in Daisy's room after about a week or two. At first I was afraid the color I bought was too light for when she goes to sleep, but there's been no change, so it's all good. After a month of waiting for the living room stuff, I wanted them up. So I ordered a different curtain rod and we put them up on Labor Day. I'm not a huge fan of the one we got, but it holds curtains so it's great!
I'm just glad this one is finally done after all the work I had to do for it. Well, Jonathan did the majority of the putting up of the curtains...but still!
