The Me Monthly - Volume 6
ME THIS MONTH
What a month to finish out 2017! My December was crazy busy. Lots of work, travel, and fun times. We were at my parents' for Christmas, along with ALL of my siblings. It was the first time we had all been together in about 10 years or so. It was really cool to be with everyone and their families. The cousins were all so cute together, and I loved just listening to my brothers joke with each other. It was a pretty chill weekend - we just ate, played games, and ran after kids - but it was a Christmas I won't ever forget. The best parts were singing nearly every Christmas song in the hymn book all together on Christmas Eve and surprising my mom with a gift card to buy a new stove and dishwasher. I'm getting teary again just typing about them! I love my family, no matter how crazy they are or how little we may see each other. And, as my dad brought up, we've all found spouses who make us happy and who get along with each other. My family is the best ♥
While it was a pretty good month, I really hope next December is a little less crazy and I can focus more on enjoying Christmas...but now that I've said that I've jinxed it and it will be twice as insane. It's so weird to me to try to look ahead at the new year. When I lived at home, my life was pretty unchanging. After moving away, I felt like I couldn't plan very far in advance because I couldn't even image what would happen next. I still feel that way sometimes. While this wasn't the most eventful year for me, there were still lots of exciting and trying things. In 2017, we moved, had two siblings and a friend get married, had some personal struggles and challenges, and tried to be a little more creative. We even based our yearly ornament on us being more creative! Jonathan has been writing more and brainstorming game ideas, to name his two biggest creative feats. I picked up a new client, offered to do design for my ward's RS, made some logos, did three wedding invitations, started an Etsy shop (still working on stuff for it!), and started learning brush lettering!
This year, I want to push myself to be even more creative (I'm looking at you Etsy shop). I want to be more efficient with my time and spend less of it on my phone and other distractions. I want to finish more goals. I want to work on myself and figure out how to respond to certain situations and questions. I want to say "sorry" less and "thank you" more. I want to spend more time helping Daisy learn new things. I want to organize and declutter my life. I want to do something new. I want to be surprised. I want to figure out what really makes me happy and do it. Here's to 2018!
Loving: the fresh start of a new year!
Playing: Stardew Valley, finally! Gotta get that fishing level up!
Opening: presents :) I got two awesome shirts, some great books, new brush pens and a Rhodia pad, a movie, a game, and some other great stuff!
Anticipating: getting our family pictures back! I can't wait to see them!!
Needing: to finish the posts for the stuff I passed off this month! You
THE FOCUS GROUP
In January, and possibly February, I'm going to focus on some of the long-term goals I've started and haven't done much with since. I'm also planning to get some designs made up for my Etsy shop, so I think this will be the best option right now. Besides, I got 4 things done in December (other 2 posts coming)! Some without even planning to, which may happen more in the coming months. I feel pretty good with my progress right now, even after a few months of not passing anything off :)
30. Get my real bra measurement and get at least two bras that fit
So on the 30th I was up in Salt Lake and stopped in to Nordstrom to get fitted! I finally know my size and I just need to buy some bras now.
63. Read all the Harry Potter books again
I just finished the 5th book yesterday! It took me a about a month to get half-way, and then I read the other half in like three days. I've made a semi-goal to finish the last two by the middle of February!
KEEPING YOU POSTED
15. For one year go to the temple once a month
In December I'm counting my attendance at Katie friend's wedding. Next month though, it's back to doing ordinances!

DAISY'S BOOK OF THE MONTH

Yeahhhh woooooo!!!
ReplyDeleteMy biggest goal this year is I'm making a movie of one second of each day for the year. Lots of little goals for my 101 list!
