The Me Monthly - Volume 27

ME THIS MONTH
This month has been very busy. I started another job, where I go to the print shop and help out for 15 hours a week. I really enjoy helping out - it's nice to use some skills again. It's cool to be able to walk in, see that something needs to be done and just do it. I feel like I'm really helping and I just love the people I work with. At home however, it's been quite the adjustment and most of us aren't taking it very well. We'll see how it goes moving forward. The one really not taking it very well is Daisy. For the first few weeks of September, she was throwing the BIGGEST tantrums I've ever seen and just losing her mind at bedtime. Everything was a fight and it was almost impossible to get anything done. We also started actually enforcing consequences when she doesn't cooperate, and that didn't help with everything at the time either haha :) But we got through it and now she understands consequences a little better, so that's good. In the middle of that somewhere we also all got colds, but thankfully Daisy is about the same when she's sick. She sleeps pretty well and still seems to have about the same amount of energy. When I'm sick too though, it's not as fun haha :)

Anyway! It will be interesting to see how the end of the year finishes up. I really want to simplify things, because we have some serious stress going on. Pray for us.

Feeling: tired, stressed, and also kind of apathetic
Wearing: long pants and skirts because I've already stopped shaving for the winter
Wanting: to eat whatever I want and not feel gross (spoiler alert...I have been, but I haven't been)

49. Play 51 new games (at least 15 award-winning)
Only two to go, and with how much we play board games I think I can finish this one up this month!
36. Prepare something I would say to 3-5 famous people I would like to meet
I get to be in the same room with Shannon Hale (my favorite author!) this week so I'm trying to come up with a sentence or two that conveys my feelings about her books that I could say to her. Who knows if I'll actually be able to meet her to say it, and if I do if I would even be able to say it without crying, but either way I'll get this one done!

I want to break these monthly update posts into sections. This is probably kind of overkill, but I think it will help to give me direction and I feel like it will be easier for me too. If I finish a goal, I'll still do a separate post for it within the week I finish it (hopefully). ME THIS MONTH I'm thinking I'll use this section to give highlights from the month that aren't list-related. Maybe I'll share some favorites of the month, some fun things I've done, or some thoughts I have about my progress. July has been quite eventful! We spent lots of time with friends and family, and had a few big, one-day events that required extra time beforehand for planning and stuff. The week of the 16th was especially busy. I'm one of the Webelos leaders in my ward and there was a day camp on the 17th. It featured a 3 mile hike where the first mile was almost entirely uphill (my knees and I nearly died), and I brushed up on my first aid knowledge (no more breaths...

Completed - 2 Meals per Week

55. For one month, plan and make at least 2 meals/week (9/7/2017) For our whole marriage I've been really bad at planning meals and making healthy dinners. We usually eat terribly. But I want to change that! So during the first weekend of August I planned about seven meals and did some major grocery shopping. I later came up with a few more. These are the meals I planned and the weeks I made them: Week of August 6th - Chicken & Broccoli Casserole, Chili & Cornbread Week of August 13th - Salisbury Steak, Chicken Taquitos Week of August 20th - Rainbow Wraps, Italian Dressing Pasta Week of August 27th - Mock Tacos, Oven Baked Chicken Week of September 3rd - Chicken Burritos, BLTs (There were a few small meals that I "planned," like I decided the night before that I was going to make Mac & Cheese the next day, but I didn't keep track of those. Half Credit? | #86 - Blood Type and #58 - Savings

86. Donate blood and find out my blood type - DONE-ish 3/16   58. $1500 in savings account - DONE-ish 10/16 I got sooooo close to accomplishing these two. Should I modify them and count them both? Is that allowed? (Sara? haha) I feel like I should at least count them together as one completed item - half credit each! So I wasn't able to donate blood, but I had to get some blood tests while I was pregnant and that allowed me to find out my blood type! I'm an A+. Jonathan is an A-. After I found out we joked about how my blood has better grades than his. On the savings account, we were able to get up to $1300 until a root canal and hospital bills required us to use it. So yeah, I got pretty close. I'll decide within the week how I want to count them. But at least they're documented!
