The Me Monthly - Volume 22
ME THIS MONTH
This is soooooo much later than I wanted it to be, but I've been so busy! We got back from our trip to Washington (post coming so I won't talk about it much here, but it was great!) and it took a bit to get back into routine. We had an emotionally rough week after as well, but got through it okay enough. Then I've just been busy with work so here we are! The rest of April was..chill? busy? The past few weeks have been so crazy it's hard for me to remember the beginning of the month! Let's see what I can come up with!
I do know that we had two birthdays, Jonathan's and Daisy's! We kept them pretty low-key, just presents and treats and games :) Daisy got some awesome presents from her grandparents, and barely plays with what I got her haha I guess I need more present-buying practice. I can't believe she's three! But I definitely know it, because holy sassy pants, she is a threenager. Pray I get through it! This month we also sent Connor (Jonathan's brother) off on his mission! We tried to spend a lot of time with him before he left, so we played a lot of board games and watched some shows. It will be sad to have him gone because he's pretty great, but because of that we also know he's going to be an awesome missionary :) Also....we get to use his car while he's gone, so I can leave the house during the day now!! It's pretty exciting! But we will definitely miss Connor too haha :)
I think that's all I've got for now. I'm hoping to get back on track, so you should see another post in just a few weeks. And hopefully more in between as I share some things I've passed off! Making a little progress here and there. It feels good to still be getting some things done even with all the other life busyness happening.
Anticipating: an even busier May that I originally thought
Feeling: a little impatient/at my wit's end with everyone's emotions - especially Daisy's
Wanting: to be back on vacation eating really yummy food! It's been even harder to go back to AIP this time, but I've done it, even if it's with more sighs than usual..
THE FOCUS GROUP
18. Hang a gallery wall with pictures and decor
Still not done....but I have more plans! So much of this is dependent on money/time, both of which I don't have much of, so I only get to make plans for now. But I have discovered that Hobby Lobby has a recurring 50% off sale on their wall decor and I can check their website to know when it is. Because of that, I think I'll be able to pass this one off a little quicker. One of my hangups was never knowing when a sale would be, but now I will!
As I've done before, my other focus for the next little while is going to be catching up on writing posts for the things I've passed off. I'm excited to share and really want to get it all recorded :)
12 PROJECTS - 30 DAYS
Project 9 - Undivided Attention (April - Finished)
I did pretty well on this one! I noticed a big, positive change in my mood/actions towards Daisy and Jonathan, as well as my focus on different tasks. I think this area is a big weakness of mine and that devoting energy to improving it is one of the best things I can do for myself and my family.
Project 10 will start next month. With all the busyness of these past few weeks, I totally forgot I was even doing this! If anyone has suggestions for what I should do next, send them my way!

NUMBERED NEWS
28. Read 35 new books
6. These is my words (4/13/19) - This book you guys. So many feels!!! Reading the progression, learning, growth, life, and experiences of a woman in the Arizona territories was such a journey. It was so hard to put down and I just loved it. The love story is fantastic and you just get so attached to everyone in her family. There were multiple times where I was so anxious and concerned for what was going on, and at the end I was sobbing. For a few days after I finished it, I would tear up every time I thought about it. If you want a wonderful, raw, full-of-feels story, I would definitely suggest it, and SO many thanks to Kathryn for suggesting it to me! (And letting me borrow her copy!)
70. Attend 5 new museums
3. White Bluffs Quilt Museum (4/26/19) - This was more a place for quilting enthusiasts to sew together, take classes, and sell/display their work. They did have a few quilting and sewing artifacts, but the real joy was three lovely old ladies telling us about quilting, looms, and spinning. They were a delight. What an experience it was haha :)
85. Watch 101 new movies (at least 20 award-winning)
46. Avengers: End Game - (4/26/19)
86. Go to 15 new eateries
7. Shari's (4/26/19) Out of the many delicious sounding breakfast options, I chose the Cinnama-Sation French Toast: cinnamon rolls dipped in egg batter and topped with caramel sauce, candied pecans and whipped cream. I was in HEAVEN!!
8. The Spudnut Shop (4/26/19) I got a regular spudnut with frosting and sprinkles! We got there 10 minutes before they closed so it wasn't super fresh, but it was still really yummy!
9. Foodies Brick & Mortar (4/26/19) I got the All American Burger and it had all the classics on it - cheese, mayo/mustard, tomato, pickles, lettuce, onions. And let me tell you, it was EXACTLY was I was hoping for. I also got their amazing fries, and our waiter brought us their fantastic salsa to try for free, which I ended up dipping the fries in. Everything was SO DELICIOUS. I hope I can go back someday.
DAISY'S BOOK OF THE MONTH
Back with another book from Nana! Daisy loves this one and calls it the "elvaphant one": Horton Hatches the Egg
Daisy's favorite part is the "baby elvaphant bird" and she ALWAYS points out the picture of Mayzie being grumpy. I shorten some parts when I read it, but I really like it too! While Dr. Seuss writes some long books, most of them are pretty great!
