The Me Monthly - Volume 19
ME THIS MONTH
New Year! I know I posted an update for December just a few weeks ago, but I tried to not say anything about January while doing it. Our first two weeks were pretty uneventful - we even got to bed around or before 10:30 every night! Then we started watching a few shows, did a game night or two, I got a bunch of work, aaaaaaand...I became a business owner! With a big, possibly recurring, job coming up, I decided to finally set up an LLC. I won't go into all the details, but it has all worked out so nicely that I know this was the right time to do this. The name came to me pretty quickly too: Early Bird Design. And it is exactly what I wanted in a name - simple/clean, professional, and happy. Last year when I did my Etsy shop, I was so caught up in making sure I had the logo and everything in order that it took me forever. For this new business, I don't even have a logo yet but all the most important things are in place. We'll see what happens!
Another big thing that happened in January was our 4th anniversary! We celebrated in a pretty simple way, and it was great. I made one of Jonathan's favorite desserts - monster cookies - and I made four of them monster size. Then we ate 4 for 4's from Wendy's and went to see a movie - Into the Spiderverse (for our spiderverse-ary haha). We went to a movie on our first date and I think going to see a movie on/around our anniversary could be a cute tradition. I love my cute, sweet, thoughtful, smart, hilarious, strong, wonderful husband, and every year married to him is better than the one before! Here's to many more :)
So yeah! January was pretty good, but overall, I'm glad to be done with it and to be one month closer to spring!! Who's with me?!
Excited: to take some time to work on a new logo!
Needing: fun, indoor activites to do with a stir-crazy toddler and a bored mom
Loving: my clean kitchen every night :)
THE FOCUS GROUP
18. Hang a gallery wall with pictures and decor
Bringing this one back! My awesome sister-in-law gave me some money at Christmas for house decorations and I mean to use it! (Also just got some birthday money I'll use too!) I picked out my frames, I've done some research for decor ideas, and I even got a big, current picture printed. Progress!
12 PROJECTS - 30 DAYS
Project 6 (Redo) - Dishes Everyday (January - Finished)
I did it!!!! I did my dishes every. day. Most of the time going to bed with a clean, empty sink! My counters and table were usually wiped down too! It was so wonderful. I hope I never (or veeeeerrrry slowly) break this habit.
Project 7 - Notice Love (February - Started)
For February I want to notice the love I receive and the love I give. I know I won't be able to keep track of all of it, but I want to write down at least one thing everyday.

KEEPING YOU POSTED
20. Read the Book of Mormon twice during the list
About a week into January I finished the Book of Mormon for the first time in this list! I read it the fastest I ever have, understood more than I ever have, and had one of the best experiences reading it I've ever had. I have a hard time getting through the war chapters and there are some things that I don't fully understand, but I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book, that it was translated through the power of God, and that it brings me joy. Not sure when I'll start reading it again, but wanting to do that soon!
50.Write in my journal at least once a week for a year
Pretty sure I wrote every week in January! One night I had way too many thoughts going on in my head and couldn't fall asleep, so I wrote everything down and after that I was out! I need to remember that writing in my journal will help me sleep - maybe then I'll do it every day haha :)
NUMBERED NEWS
49. Play 51 new games (at least 15 award-winning)
36. Gùgōng - (1/27/19)
67. Go to 3 plays
2. Much Ado About Nothing - Grassroots Shakespeare (1/18/19)
I was so excited to go to this play and it did not disappoint! I had never read this play before, so I read the Sparknotes before and I think it really helped me to understand it all. As with the first Grassroots show we went to - the actors were amazing, we were laughing the whole time, and I don't think I can watch Shakespeare any other way! Plays are the best.
85. Watch 101 new movies (at least 20 award-winning)
42. Into the Spider-verse (1/2/19)
43. Paddington 2 (1/4/19)
86. Go to 15 new eateries
6. Wise Guys Pizzeria (12/22/18) Pizza place we went to in Texas! I tried two different pizzas, but the "Uncle Ray from Cali" pizza was fantastic. They also had these little garlic bread ball things that were SO GOOD. We also got Daisy some mac and cheese that she wouldn't eat, so I did, and it was yummy :)
DAISY'S BOOK OF THE MONTH
Daisy's book(s) this month is this volume of Boynton books she got for Christmas!
She has wanted to only read these for a few weeks and can basically read them to herself now! They're super cute and I think Boynton board books are definitely some of my favorites too.
