The Me Monthly - Volume 18

ME THIS MONTH
December was busy. Then we went to Texas to visit my in-laws for Christmas! The flight there was awesome and Daisy did great; the flight home was hard and seemed to take FOREVER. The time in between the flights however, was fantastic!! The first day there we went to the Fort Worth Zoo - basically no one was there and the weather was amazing, so obviously it was the perfect zoo trip. Also: I PET A FREAKING GIRAFFE. So yeah. Perfect.
Our time in Texas also included:
  • Christmas!! such a great day :)
  • great gospel and life discussions
  • a really delicious pizza place
  • Parker's baptism (Jonathan's little brother)
  • endless video games, especially smash bros
  • dog pats
  • multiple board games where we terraformed all the things
  • many, many treats and non-AIP foods
  • lots of reading
  • cows and horses and dollar stores and churches everywhere
  • driving into civilization from nowhere
  • no mountains. flatness is not my favorite
  • lovely nighttime rainstorms
Overall it was just a really relaxing, chill trip. We mostly stayed at my in-laws house the whole time and it was nice to just be with family and not have any obligations or worries for a little while. It was equally nice to come home to our own beds. While we may not have another trip like that for a long time, I'm glad we were able to be together and create some great memories. Daisy says that she's going to Texas like every other day now, so I know she had a great time too haha :)

What a year this has been! Can't wait to see what the next one has in store :)

Eating: EVERYTHING. Chocolate is so good you guys. And just all treats. Treats are great. But they don't really like me.
Playing: lots of new games! Christmas is always a good time for board and video games. We got some good ones this year.
Enjoying: work-free, busy-free time with family

THE FOCUS GROUP
Not much going on here, but I'm going to take some time in the next few months to write up ones that I've passed off - because there are a few! (I think haha) I'm also going to look through my list and see which things I'm still excited about doing and which things I want to make some changes to. So this might not be here next update! We'll see.
68. Read a manga
Jonathan surprised me with a set of manga for Christmas! He got me books 1-7 of Land of the Lustrous (my favorite anime), and the next book is coming out in April. I'm so excited to finish it!

12 PROJECTS - 30 DAYS
I was so bummed about  "failing" in November that I didn't even end up doing one in December (plus holidays). No surprise here, but I think I made some of these a little too intense for or expected a little too extra/much of myself in regards to reporting/accomplishing/etc. So I'm going to be writing these up and doing them a little differently - not quite sure how but we'll see what happens :) Just want to make these fun for me and have them help me grow - not something that stresses me out or that I want to avoid.
Project 6 (Redo) - Dishes Everyday (January - Started)
For January I want to do my dishes everyday, and more specifically I want to have the sink as empty as I can before I go to bed.

KEEPING YOU POSTED
20. Read the Book of Mormon twice during the list
I was trying to finish before the end of the year, so while I was in Texas I was reading 20 or more pages a day. I've never read that much of the Book of Mormon at one time and it was a really cool experience. I still have a hard time with all the war chapters though.

45. Organize and backup my computer files, pictures, music, etc.
I haven't done much on this one for a while, but for Christmas I got a new hard drive and plan to be organizing a lot more soon!

50.Write in my journal at least once a week for a year
I've tried starting this one up a few times and I've never lasted very long. But I really want to get going again. I'm going to count my scripture journal, gratitude journal, and regular journal, with the most focus on my regular journal. But no matter what, I'm going to write in my regular journal at least once a month.

DAISY'S BOOK OF THE MONTH
Daisy's book this month is one that she will quote randomly throughout the day: The Day of the Dinosaur

It's by the Berenstain Bears authors and it's super cute. Lots of great rhymes and I've gotten really good at saying dinosaur names. Daisy loves it too. She'll read parts of it with me and will quote lines from it while she's playing. I'm glad she likes dinosaurs (instead of being scared of them like some bugs) because I think they're pretty cool too.
