The Me Monthly - Volume 10
ME THIS MONTH
For all the folks following along - I got my colonoscopy. It was QUITE the experience. The week of was probably one of the worst weeks we've ever had at our house. Daisy had a cold, none of us really got any sleep (I'm pretty sure I got maybe 10 hours in 3 days), and it seemed like everything was going wrong.
During my colonoscopy prep - all liquid diet, then a gallon of laxative the night before - I threw up. That laxative stuff is one of the nastiest things I have ever tasted. Because I threw it up, I couldn't get my colonoscopy the next day and had to do an extra day of prep. Luckily they let me do a laxative with Gatorade instead. It obviously tasted way better, but I threw that up too :( I was so worried I wouldn't get to have it done and that I would have to do this all over again. (Imagine that, hoping you're ready for a colonoscopy.) Luckily the next morning I kept the other half of the prep down and when I got to the hospital they said I was good to go! They knocked me out and like 30 minutes later told me that....dun-dundun-duuuun: I have ulcerative colitis. So now I'm taking 9 pills a day and I might go see a nutritionist to figure out what foods will not destroy my gut. But I know what's wrong with me now and I can figure out what will help me feel better :)
Other big things this month: Birthdays! We celebrated Jonathan's birthday on the 8th and Daisy's on the 22nd. I worked a lot this month too and didn't plan very good parties, but they both still got older so I don't think I ruined anything. Oh wait! I actually kind of ruined Jonathan's birthday. Well not ruined it, but I did the wrong kind of surprise for him and it didn't go over very well. But I learned! Next year will be better haha :) Daisy's birthday was good because my in-laws are the best and made a yummy dinner for her. They got her the best gifts too! A kitchen and a racetrack! We got her a balance bike (still unsure about it) and a pail/shovel combo. Had to prepare for the summer because she LOVES being outside. It's so crazy to think we have a 2 year old now!!
So yeah. April was somehow crazier than March. But here's looking to a brighter, better summer! (Did I just jinx myself? I hope not.)
Watching: My Hero Acadamia!! It's a super great anime and the 3rd season just started. I can't wait for Saturdays! I'm also watching Galavant. It's not my favorite, but it's silly and passes the time when I want to watch something but need to do laundry or something.
Loving: the warmer weather! I love having my windows open. My house feels less stuffy and more fresh.
Feeling: more normal! It's just been small improvements so far, but I can already tell I'm doing better.
THE FOCUS GROUP
42. Exercise 4 days/week for a month (4 weeks)
Didn't happen. Recommitting to do this next month! Especially because a few days ago a little kid asked me if I was having another baby...Gotta tighten up them abs haha :) I exercised this morning, so I'm already doing better than the last 4 weeks!
53. Learn the health benefits of different fruits and vegetables
Also haven't done much on this one this month. But I did remember from the book that you should steam, bake, or fry veggies instead of boiling or microwaving them, and so we steamed some broccoli and fried some zucchini this month! Baby steps! I'm committing to reading and searching more this month, especially because I now know what's wrong with me and can find things that will help my gut and avoid the things that can cause issues.
KEEPING YOU POSTED
15. For one year go to the temple once a month
I almost forgot to go this month! It got to the last week when I finally remembered. This month was crazy, but luckily I was able to find a good time to go. I went by myself and did initiatory ordinances. I really like doing those :)
97. Get all achievements and reach level 10 on all skills in Stardew Valley
Played for the first time in a while! I did about a week in the game and look! Level 5 in fishing, baby! Also, new achievements keep showing up, so that's why the number is now 25 instead of the 20 or whatever it started at. But I did get two more!
Skills: 10/10 Farming • 8/10 Mining • 9/10 Foraging • 5/10 Fishing • 7/10 Combat
Achievements: 15/25
NUMBERED NEWS
85. Watch 51 new movies (at least 15 award-winning)
29. Life of Pi (4/4/18) *5 - 2013 Oscar for Best Director, Best Visual Effects + more*
30. Isle of Dogs (4/7/18)
31. Thor: Ragnarok (4/26/18)
32. Avengers: Infinity War (5/1/18)
(19 movies to go! I need to watch more award-winning ones...any suggestions?)
DAISY'S BOOK OF THE MONTH
For Daisy's book this month I went to DI again! I actually bought two books because they were also for her birthday, but the one I'm going to say is her "book of the month" is this one! Whenever I Hear
It's a picture book with the words to the primary song "My Heavenly Father Loves Me," one of my favorites. The pictures are super cute and Daisy has loved it so far. There are a few typos, but it's still cute.
